Wampanoag Trading Post & Gallery Exhibit

I'm pleased to have a charcoal portrait of Danielle Greendeer and an oil painting of Danielle and her husband David Greendeer included in an exhibit at the Wampanoag Trading Post and Gallery for the month of December. David and Danielle are members of the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe and in November, in honor of Native American Heritage month, modeled for a group of artists dressed in contemporary native dress. 

It was a pleasure to paint them and learn more about the history and traditions of the Wampanoag tribes. Both David and Danielle are active members of the Mashpee tribe and Danielle recently co-wrote a children's book, Keepunumuk- Weeâchumuns Thanksgiving, which has received critical acclaim.

The Wampanoag Trading Post and Gallery is located on North Street, Mashpee Commons, Mashpee, MA.
