I'm very pleased that "Quiet Contemplation," a 12" x 9" pastel, was chosen to be included in the Cape Cod Museum of Art annual member juried exhibition, Transparent | Translucent | Opaque: Layered Meanings.

Works of art often use these visual cues to convey mood, evoke mystery, and instill meaning. However, this theme can also apply to the human condition, indicating varied levels of openness, comprehension or clairvoyance.

Transparency, translucency and opacity can be found everywhere and are in everything, both literally and metaphorically. It serves as a framework, providing a launching point to consider the many possible ways these attributes can be expressed visually within art.

The show opened Jan. 12 and runs until April 10, 2022. An opening reception will be held Feb. 3, 4-7pm.
